International EPICMUSIC Composition Prize
_______________________________________________________________________

2nd edition 2005 - symphonic & chamber works

ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2nd International EPICMUSIC Composition Prize, an idea inspired by the genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, aims to discover works that can be performed in concert with his masterworks, and is in celebration of the 250th anniversary of his birth. The scope of the competition is to encourage composers to contribute to the growth and excellence of contemporary music. Each piece should not be tied to established musical aesthetics or concepts, and must be fresh in its musical expression as a whole, rather than conforming to outdated contemporary languages, and not simply showing off special instrumental techniques or novelty, merely for its own sake.
